Gayle has been working in Honduras since 1999 and co-leading Torch trips since 2002.
She enjoys watching “Torchers” see Honduras for the first time through their eyes.
After the first Torch trip, the decision was made to start a full-time medical clinic, so the poor have access all year. Clinica de Esperanza was born out of a Torch group in Santa Ana, Honduras in 2007. Gayle has lived there full time since 2016. Most of her personal focus is on mobile clinics for Torch teams and mobile medical care in poor communities. She supervises a Honduran staff that runs the free clinic for the poor on a daily basis. We provide medical care, pharmaceuticals, internships for medical students, participate in clean water programs, Eldercare, food for the hungry, education programs, anti-bully program in schools and spiritual guidance.
